The Lille European Metropolitan Area
Organized by the Faireway association, BEAU is the first-ever festival of digital arts for the Lille metropolitan area. In a world where technology has become ever-present (omnipotent?), BEAU seeks to present digital technology in terms of the beauty it has to offer, once it is in the hands of artists, and to promote their ability to move our emotions and bring meaning to our modern societies. Through collectively determined artistic programming - performances, workshops, talks –each year, the BEAU Festival composes a sort of score in 2 rhythms and 2 digital equinoxes, written together with fellow artistic travelers and partners in creativity and culture within the region: Le Fresnoy, Les Rencontres Audiovisuelles, Le Flow, Maison Folie Moulins, Espace le carré, Musée d’histoire naturelle de Lille, TechShop, and Le Manège - Maubeuge.
